High Associations

Once on a school exchange program, I got an opportunity to go to India for one week. Firstly, I didn’t have permission from my parents due to the stereotypes about the Indians, I was the one with same kind of thinking. But when I went there my views and opinions were entirely changed.

Here I would like to share a small incident that occurred with us while on the stay.

We were in Amritsar and had planned to visit The Golden Temple but unfortunately the road was totally blocked due to butt load of traffic and the Sargent was not allowing any vehicle to enter the suburbs of The Golden Temple. We had short spam of time because almost after half an hour we had our train to Delhi. So it was kinda disappointing because as they say "One must visit The Golden Temple while in Amritsar" so we were fully prepared and had made our minds.

What to do now!? Oh well, our principal thought to go talk to the Sargent herself. So she went down and told the man that we have come all the way from Pakistan and we have our train to catch in half an hour, kindly allow us to visit this sacred place. To my surprise, the Sargent left everything and welcomed us with a big heart and started shouting  to the other men to give us the way. He said "Our guests have come from Pakistan , they should not face any difficulty, let them go in". It came as a total surprise for us and we were totally overwhelmed by his behavior. 

And finally we got the chance to visit the temple and Jalianwala bagh as well which is a very historical place.

So lesson learnt was the we should make any judgement about anyone before knowing the other side of the story. :)

I am in search of what I am!
